This two unit development was designed to maximize an underutilized site that benefited from road access from three sides and an ideal northern orientation.  The brief was for two very contemporary double storey homes that were minimalist in form and provided generous outdoor living spaces at ground and first floor level to capture views and the beach side atmosphere. The design intent behind the large balcony areas is to provide summer shading to the ground floor living zones below, while the first floor level is protected via adjustable folding arm awnings for optimal sun control.
