The goal of this two unit development was to provide two well designed and visually interesting homes that would appeal to a broad cross section of the housing market. The double storey home was positioned at the front of the site to avoid shading and overlooking impacts to the subject site and surrounding neighbours, and to respond better to the established neighbourhood character.  A ‘pop-top’ style roof form was adopted for the single storey home to the rear of the site to provide volume and light and maximize the size of the living zone. Northern and Southern private open spaces were created for both homes to provide alternative outdoor retreats for each, and to utilize every part of the site.
